The 12 Days of EOS Christmas 2020

Welcome back, Team EOS and EOSIO! Happy Holidays!

In the spirit of the holiday season and on a lighter note, I would like to use this newsletter to highlight 12 EOS-related achievements or industries for the past year. And not to be exclusive but for the sake of a theme for this newsletter, the 12 highlights will be in the style of the 12 days of Christmas.

The 12 highlights are non-Block.one developments and achievements. This newsletter honors and recognizes those in the EOS and EOSIO community who have given and contributed much over the course of this past year.

So, grab a cup of hot chocolate, kick up your feet, and let's begin!

On the 1st Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me...LiquidApps' DAPP Network!

The team behind LiquidApps has been working very hard this past year. They have been releasing much needed software to make EOS dApps more efficient and scalable. The team supported the Reddit Challenge where the DAPP Network was used to create a scalable and cheap L2 for Reddit's ERC-20 token. In addition, LiquidApps launched EdgeDSP technology that makes it possible for everyday users to participate in securing the DAPP Network.

The main objective for the DAPP Network is to become the layer-2, scalable middleware for ANY blockchain. Through the bridges that connects the DAPP Network with other blockchains like Ethereum, community members have also created DAD governance tokens to incentivize liquidity providers to support tokens on both Ethereum and EOS chains. I look forward to seeing what is in store for LiquidApps and the DAPP Network in 2021.

On the 2nd Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....EOS Blockchain Games!

EOSIO blockchains, like Ultra and WAX, have shown the potential for blockchain gaming. EOS-based games are no different and four are within the list of top-1o blockchain games in number of daily users. EOSIO blockchains can handle the needed scalability and speed of gaming dApps, and it shows with popular games like Upland, Crypto Dynasty, Prospectors, and Chain Clash. Check these games out if you have time in between meals, drinks, and socializing during the holidays.

On the 3rd Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....EOS DeFi dApps!

EOS Defi dApps have been making big moves during the latter part of the year. I have been impressed with DefiBox, Newdex, EOSfinex, Vigor, Chintai, and Defis Network. These dApps showcase the potential for EOS Defi dApps in taking market share from the slow, expensive Defi dApps on Ethereum.

I am especially thankful to see that the Defis Network's proxy has given voice to the voters in choosing which Block Producers to vote into the top-21. The proxy is the second largest behind Block.one's proxy, and I foresee more Defi-related proxies popping up in 2021.

On the 4th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....EOS artwork NFTs!

And more specifically, PIXEOS! NFT artwork is a hot market with Ethereum-based digital art going for tens of thousands of dollars. On the EOS public blockchain and in the future the UX Network, PIXEOS is an artwork marketplace where artists can sell or auction their digital art creations.

NFT artwork brings a new angle in creativity -- fusing the virtual, digital, and traditional approaches of art-making together. Take a look at the PIXEOS gallery to see the cool new art pieces that are on sale. Perhaps you could snag some for a loved one or friend for the holidays.

On the 5th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....EOS Wallets!

Having a good user experience is a must in any industry. For those entering the EOS public blockchain space, their first interaction will be with wallets. And for over the past 2 years, users have had to deal with multiple wallets, but now, I am grateful that there are some dependable EOS wallets that have been releasing updates over the course of this past year.

If you want to set up a wallet without having any private keys, I am thankful for Wombat.

If you have your own private keys, I am grateful for Anchor wallet.

And I am appreciative for the Asian counterpart, MyKey.

On the 6th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....EOS Micro Loan!

With the Venezuelan economy in decline, entrepreneurs are beginning to look towards EOS Micro Loan as a way to invigorate their local economies through payment plans for goods and services.

In addition, EOS Market Place leverages EOS Micro Loan by providing businesses and consumers with an easy platform for transactions and loans. There are 348 businesses currently signed up in Venezuela with more coming in the future. Their growing success is a testament to both their supportive community on Telegram and on the ground.

On the 7th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....Emanate!

Listening to my favorite Christmas songs and vibing with loved ones is something I look forward to during the holiday season. I am thankful for the team at Emanate for their continued work in bringing for better compensation for artists and musicians. In addition, Emanate facilitates the collaboration between artists to release content for their listeners.

On the 8th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me.....EOS Block Producer leaders!

I am thankful for those who have stepped up and assumed leadership roles while Block.one took a back seat due to regulations this past year. I want to give a shout out to EOS Nation for their continued leadership of the EOS public blockchain. Even though community members may not always support the team behind EOS Nation, I want to convey my appreciation for their hard work to bring value to EOS token holders.

In addition, I would be remiss if I did not give a shout out to the other Block Producers who have also stepped up and supported the EOS community: Greymass, Attic Lab, Bitfinex, Newdex, EOS Rapid, Genereos, EOS Authority, EOS Node One, EOS Argentina, EOS Sweden, EOS Cafe Block, EOS Rio, Cryptolions, EOS 42, Cypherglass, EOSphere, Aloha EOS, EOS USA, EOS Amsterdam, and EOS Costa Rica.

On the 9th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....EOSIO Blockchains!

Besides the EOS public blockchain, I am also happy to see the growth of other EOSIO blockchains.

Like WAX:

And ULTRA:

And Telos:

These EOSIO blockchains only makes the entire EOSIO ecosystem stronger by providing different resource models, keeping EOSIO developers in the ecosystem, and allowing for alternative solutions to spur innovation.

On the 10th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....EOS Social Media Influencers!

I am happy to see that there are EOS social media influencers on YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and Telegram. Hodl EOS gives great video clips on NFTs and how to interact within the EOS ecosystems like setting up wallets to using different dApps.

In addition, I want to give a shout-out to other influencers like Crypto Pickle, EOS Nation, EOS Go, Crypto Peter, Everything EOS, and EOSwriter for their continued support for and education of the EOS and EOSIO blockchains.

On the 11th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me...EOS and EOSIO Developers!

Developers, Developers, Developers! EOS and EOSIO developers have been creating cool things, and I want to say that I am very appreciative for all of their hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to this burgeoning technology. Developers, thank you!

Specifically, I want to give a shout-out to Syed Jafri for his awesome work in bridging EOS with Ethereum.

And a shout-out to Phillip Hamnett for his work with ProFi through the Chintai platform.

On the 12th Day of EOS Christmas, my true love sent to me....the EOS and EOSIO community!

Lastly, I am thankful for all of you, the EOS and EOSIO community. Thank you for being a part of this community!

I wish you and your loved ones a safe and fun holiday season. See you all next week for another round of the CoolWave Capital Newsletter.
